Skadden advised the 3.2 billion reais (US$650 million) initial public offering of Brazilian energy company Compass on Brazilian stock exchange B3 – the first IPO in Brazil in nearly five years and the $1.3 billion offer from Mexican bank Banamex (majority owned by Citibank); Davis Polk and Simpson Thacher advised the $650 million offer from Brazilian marine engineering firm Oceanica; Latham & Watkins advised the private placement of $500 million notes by Colombia-focused oil company Parex; Clifford Chance advised Argentine public electricity distribution company EDENOR’s $550 million offer; Cleary Gottlieb advised the $500 million offer from Mexican development bank Bancomext and Davis Polk advised Argentine oil company CGC’s $200 million offer.
