Baker McKenzie, Cleary Gottlieb, Holland & Knight, Milbank and White & Case advised on the $6.2 billion acquisition financing for Mexico’s government in its purchase of Spanish energy firm Iberdrola’s 12 combined-cycle gas turbine plants and one wind farm in Mexico.

The deal has been hailed by Mexican president Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador as a “new nationalization” for the electricity market.
