Brazil domines the Latinvex 500 in number of firms, revenues and profits.
The South American country accounted for 246 firms that had combined revenues of $779.5 billion, or 41% of total revenues.
More impressively, Brazil accounted for $40.8 billion, or 61% of all Latinvex 500 profits.
That was largely due to profit leaders Petrobras and Vale (Latin America’s most profitable companies), which accounted for $12.7 billion in combined profits.
While state oil company Petrobras remains Brazil’s and Latin America’s top company in revenues, Vale now ranks behind JBS (the world’s largest meat producer) and Raizen (a joint venture between Cosan and Shell) on the subranking of Brazil’s top companies.
