Latham & Watkins Secures Colombia ICSID Victory
Honduras denounces ICSID Convention amidst $11 billion dispute.

Latham & Watkins secured a complete victory for Colombia at the World Bank’s International Centre for Settlement of Investment Disputes in an arbitration initiated by Canadian junior mining company Red Eagle Exploration Limited; Honduras has formally notified the ICSID that it is leaving the dispute body just as it was assessing an $11 billion dispute with Honduras Prospera, an autonomous “free zone,” which leftist president Xiomara Castro has said she does not recognize.
