

Latham & Watkins Advises Telefonica Uruguay Sale
S&C advises Codelco-Rio Tinto deal, Clifford Chance advises SouthAm financing.

Latham & Watkins is advising Spanish telecom giant Telefónica in the $440 million sale of its Uruguay unit to Luxembourg-based, Latin America-focused telecom company Millicom; Sullivan & Cromwell advised Chile’s state copper company Codelco on its partnership with UK-Australian mining giant Rio Tinto for its new Maricunga lithium project; Clifford Chance advised a $350 million loan to Peruvian real estate companies Urbanizadora Jardín, Inmuebles Limatambo, and Inversiones San Borja and $220 million credit facility for Canada-based, South America-focused oil company Frontera Energy; Holland & Knight advised ArtCap Advisory Services on an acquisition finance transaction and Simpson Thacher represented Mexican retailer El Puerto de Liverpool in the completion of the previously announced acquisition, together with members of the Nordstrom family, of all shares of Nordstrom, Inc.
