

Arnold & Porter, Simpson Advise Record Colombia Bonds
Law firms advise record sovereign and private bonds in Colombia.

Arnold & Porter advised Colombia on a dual tranche bond issue totaling $3.8 billion, which was Colombia’s largest ever bond offering, while Simpson Thacher advised the $2 billion notes offering by Grupo Gilinski to acquire Nutresa using a bridge loan in what became the largest ever offer by a private Colombian company.
Meanwhile, Simpson Thacher advised the $500 million offer from Mexican export financing bank Bancomext and US-based private equity investor Advent International’s $215 million follow-on financing round in Latin American e-commerce company Merama; Linklaters advised a $110 million loan for a US unit of Brazil-based Alubar (the largest manufacturer of aluminum electrical cables in Latin America) and Davis Polk advised Peru-based, Latin America-focused healthcare company Auna’s $62.1 million offer.
