Despite Pemex losses, energy outperforms Latinvex 500.

Latin America’s top 500 companies outperformed economic growth in the region last year, posting a 12.5 percent increase in revenues, significantly higher than the GDP increase of 1.3 percent, according to the latest Latinvex 500.
The ranking uses data for 2017 from individual companies and Economatica.
Profits, though, barely inched up. The profit growth would have been higher if not for major losses at Mexican state oil company Pemex, which offset a dramatic turnaround at Brazilian state oil company Petrobras.
