Jose Astigarraga joins Reed Smith, while Ed Davis starts new asset recovery firm.

Astigarraga Davis -- which has had a strong focus on Latin America -- is splitting up, with its arbitration team joining Reed Smith and its asset recovery team forming a new firm, Sequor Law.
A seven-lawyer team from the International Arbitration and Litigation Practice at Astigarraga Davis is joining the International Arbitration Practice and Latin America Business team at Reed Smith.
The team is led by Jose Astigarraga, considered one of the leading experts on Latin American arbitration and a Latinvex Top 100 Lawyer the past five years. The team also includes partner M. Cristina Cárdenas (a Latinvex Top 100 Female Lawyer) and counsel Eduardo J. De la Peña (a Latinvex Rising Legal Star).
Meanwhile, Astigarraga Davis founding shareholder Edward H. Davis, Jr. is not joining his former partner Astigarraga but has instead formed a new law firm, Sequor Law, along with several other Astigarraga Davis lawyers specialized in asset recovery.
