Latin America’s M&As grew 18 percent in 2014.

Spain-based Telefonica’s planned purchase of Brazilian broadband company GVT for $9.8 billion became the largest announced deal in Latin America last year, according to the ranking of Latin America’s Top 100 M&As from Latinvex and Thomson Reuters.
