Argentina: Arbitration World’s The Revenant
Despite Argentina’s change of governments, more claims are expected.

Argentina, one of the top leaders in arbitration cases at The World Bank, is expected to remain in that position despite the recent change of governments, experts warn.
“Argentina is in the position of defending a multitude of claims related to its 2001 financial crisis that, presumably from Argentina’s perspective, just refuse to die: the arbitration world’s version of The Revenant, if you will,” says Gaela K. Gehring Flores, a partner at Arnold & Porter, one of the leading firms in Latin America related cases at The World Bank’s International Center for Settlement of Investment Disputes (ICSID).
