Mexico: Baker & McKenzie Expands, DLA Merges

Baker& McKenzie nabs Mexico DLA team, DLA merges with Mexico Firm.


Carlos Valencia has left DLA Piper to join Baker & McKenzie along with a team of other former DLA people.  

Meanwhile, DLA has announced plans to merge its Mexico operations with local law firm Gallastegui y Lozano.

The loss at DLA comes just as Mexico is seeing strong interest among foreign investors as a result of recent energy and telecommunications reforms, which in turn is helping boost business at both local and foreign law firms in the country.
