Latin America: Profit Winners & Losers
Latin America’s corporate profit winners and losers.

Brazilian state oil giant Petrobras remains the most profitable company in Latin America. Its net income last year was nearly 50 percent higher than the second-most profitable company in the region, Colombian state oil company Ecopetrol.
Meanwhile, Mexican state oil company Pemex lost more than any other Latinvex 500 company last year. Other companies with heavy losses include Brazilian oil company OGX, Mexican state electricity company CFE, Brazilian electricity company Eltrobras and US-based telecom company NII Holdings.
Brazilian chemical company Elekeiroz led the way in profit growth (8,482 percent), followed by Brazilian retailer Magazine Luiza and Chilean construction firm Polpaico. Apart from Pemex other profit growth losers include Itautech, LAN Chile and OGX
