US imports of Latin American crude oil fell by 20 percent during the first half of the year, reaching $43.2 billion, according to a Latinvex analysis of US Census Bureau data.
Only two of the nine Latin American oil exporters – Ecuador and Peru -- posted increases during the period, while the other seven all saw declines.
